Now on its 13th year, the Manila Food and Beverage Expo has officially opened its doors once again to a whole new world of tastes, flavors, and opportunities. Living up to its reputation as the country’s “Ultimate Foodventure”, this year’s MAFBEX is occupying a total of 12,500sqm of exhibit space as it houses 500 booths and 300 companies from all over the Philippines and countries such as Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Italy and Vietnam
As has been the tradition, a grand opening launch was held last June 12 at the lobby of the show venue. Present during the program and the ceremonial ribbon-cutting were Worldbex Services International’s key executive officers, Joseph Ang, Levi Ang, Archt. Francisco Flameño, Jill Ang, Rene Ramos, and Tessie Roque along with VIP guests including Senator Cynthia Villar and Secretary Emmanuel Piñol.
Inspired by the idea of opening up the F&B industry to new and novel perspectives, the key objective of this year’s show is to let everyone “Experience the Fusion” of gastronomic wonders and robust business opportunities. MAFBEX draws this idea from the realization that excellence and ingenuity thrive hardest where there is openness to change and diversity in perspectives.
With this key objective in mind, taking center stage at this year’s MAFBEX are not only a substantial array of F&B products and services that represent the future of food but also ones that will help F&B businesses refine and enhance their processes. This is evidenced by the product lines of this year’s exhibitors which will include POS systems, franchises, food equipment, packaging, and raw materials.
But more than just about the products and services, distinct to MAFBEX are other show components that focus on nurturing development and knowledge-building among its community of professionals, enthusiasts, and aspiring players alike. As such, visitors of this year’s MAFBEX can expect the return of the show’s signature event highlights that all aim to provide attendees with an immersive food show experience.
Among these highlights are live cook-offs and products demonstrations, the all-new Brew District, organic products and regional homegrown goods, and the Chefs of the World. Meanwhile, also making a highly-anticipated comeback are the MAFBEX Competitions such as the YHE Culinary Competition, MAFBEX Culinary Cup: Home Chef Edition, and the Flair Competition.
Very much in line with the show’s theme of fueling innovation, visitors are also encouraged to watch out for MAFBEX Seminars. Free of charge and open to all, the topics to be presented at this year’s seminars include “Kitchen Innovation through Diversity and Inclusion’’ by Chef Jester Arellano, “Evolution of Fusion Cuisine: A Breakthrough In Nutrition Trends for Millennials”, and “How to Open a Coffee Shop” by Ms. Ros Juan.
As MAFBEX sets the stage for promising B2B connections marked by the fusion of various forces and bold new concepts and ideas, MAFBEX’s commitment to cultivate the potential of the Philippine F&B industry is at once undeniable and impressive. More than just a food show, MAFBEX is truly the country’s most significant annual F&B event.
Organized by Worldbex Services International for the benefit of the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, the 13th Manila Food and Beverage Expo or MAFBEX 2019 will run until June 16, from 10am to 8pm at the World Trade Center Manila.
