As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – the ‘Sogo Cares’ program of Hotel Sogo extended its help to more than 500 affected individuals of the recent fire incidents that swept three residential areas in Quezon City.

Late afternoon of April 30, fire with highest general alarm razed Barangay Baesa, Barangay Bahay Toro and Barangay Sinagtala which is around five kilometers apart.

Hotel Sogo immediately conducted a relief operation to give assistance to the hundreds of homeless individual by providing Sogo Cares pack consisted of food items such as packed noodles and canned goods. Linens and bath towels were also distributed that will help them with their basic needs.

“Aside from providing quality hotel services to our clients nationwide, Hotel Sogo stays true to its mission in giving back to the community. We wanted to help these people to ease their sufferings by providing aid such as food and non-food items which are part of their essential needs,” said Sue Geminiano, Marketing Manager of Hotel Sogo.

The operation is under their Sogo Cares program which started in 1998 as Hotel Sogo donated linens and pillow cases to the flood-affected individuals after a strong tropical depression hit the country.

Moreover, under the roster of the Sogo Cares program are different advocacies and humanitarian activities such as the Doctor’s on Wheels which conducts medical missions, the Heroes Assistance for Filipino policemen, Adopt a Family program, relief operations, and donations.

“We are able to execute advocacy activities through the help of our branches that are located strategically all over the Philippines. With this, we’re able to coordinate it immediately to LGUs and prepare the needed aid to the vulnerable individuals affected by such emergency and calamity,” she added.
